Trivia happens every Tuesday night at Legend's Taphouse, starting at 7:59pm! It's free to play with great prizes.

This is a very popular night at Legends and reservations are recommended as is their burger special.

Come Play with Me at St. James Church.

Come Play with us as we learn and explore through art, music, physical movement and sensory play to build imagination, growth and development.

All babies from birth to age 6, with their parents /caregivers are welcome to join for a free play and inquiry-based program.

Fun activities include messy art, science experiments, storytelling, and a group song circle. We might get messy, and we might get loud, but we will always have fun!

CASUAL KNIT & CHAT

Join them for an evening of knitting!

  Mindfulness Project

Prima Care invites you to join them every week for a mindfulness class designed to help you find peace in the present moment. Whether you're looking to reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus, manage a chronic health condition or simply carve out some "me" time - this class is for you.

Every Wednesday at the Health Hub, from 10-11am in the Community Room on the main floor of the Family Health Hub on Curtis.

Wednesdays are about to get more wonderful! Move with Ruby is a weekly 45-minute movement space led by local nuisance Rubyyy Jones, designed to get you moving, grooving, and feeling good — whatever movement looks like for you.

This is a Gentle-ish level class: flexible, accessible, and fun, with plenty of modifications to help you make the movement work for your glorious body. Seated movers are absolutely welcome! All ages and abilities are encouraged to join.

Mahjong - Paris Library

Welcome to Mahjong at the Paris Library! Mahjong is a tile-based game which was developed in China in the Qing dynasty and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Similar to the card game rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy and calculation and involves a degree of chance. The game has proven to help keep the mind sharp as it produces an increase in cognitive function.

This is a free, drop-in program, perfect for both new and returning players, every Thursday afternoon from 1:30-4pm.

Fiction Writing Club - Paris Library

Practice your fiction writing at the Paris Library on the 1st & 3rd Thursday evenings of the month, from 5:30-7:30pm.

Here you will join short story writers of all levels, to share and get feedback on their works, while meeting the local writing community. Beyond workshopping, prompts will be provided and dedicated time to just write.

  Monthly Book Club Meet Up - Riverside Bookshelf

Head to the Riverside Bookshelf on Friday September 18th, from 6-8pm.This month they're reading on the theme of - "Dissent & Disruption"

Reading a book is not required to join the meet up, as each month's theme is a conversation starter for bringing together introverts and extroverts alike. If you do like reading you can check out their suggested reading list.

There is no cost to attend and the doors will open at 5:30pm and light refreshments are provided.

WTF is Music Bingo - Dog-Eared Cafe

WTF is Music Bingo!? Happens on the 3rd Friday of every month at the Dog-Eared Cafe. Next one is on Friday September 18th.

How it works: It’s like Music Trivia, only you have to keep score on a bingo card, OR it’s like Bingo, only you have to know the songs to mark the square!

  • Cost is $2.00 per card, with all card proceeds going to support UNITE AGAINST HATE

  • There will be three categories nightly (follow us on Instagram for updates) with prizes provided by Knightfall Tattoos, zBTFD records, and, of course, Dog-Eared Café.

  • Winners win the prize per round.

  • We ARE a licensed venue, so yes, drinks will be served with monthly features from local craft brewers.

 Sunday Afternoon Chess - Wincey Mills

Friendly and Competitive Games of Chess

All are welcome to join White Knight Chess Promotions every Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm to play over the board chess in Paris Ontario at The Paris Wincey Mills.

Four boards are setup each Sunday and everyone is welcome regardless of age or skill level. You can play someone you know, or a stranger.

 

All Ages - The young, old, and somewhere in between all have a welcome seat at the board

Varying Skills - From novice to master there are all kinds of players.
 
Clocks - Not necessary, but available to those that request them.
 
Boards - We supply all the boards and pieces which means all you need to bring is yourself.
 
New to Chess - That's okay! Someone more experienced in the game is always willing to teach.
 
Capacity - A total of four boards are setup each Sunday with a maximum of 8 players at a time.

 

We know how much people love to play chess in their spare time which is why we leave a board at The Paris Wincey Mills seven days a week.

There is even a bi-annual Tournament you can enter!

AV Club

Watching movies at the Riverside Bookshelf, a monthly in-person gathering for people to watch interesting movies in a room with other people who want to watch interesting movies. Space is limited - book your ticket in advance to secure a seat.

Each month they send an email with three pre-selected movie options to Riverside Bookshelf newsletter subscribers. Tickets are available to purchase online or in person at the bookstore.

Advance ticketholders' are eligible to cast a vote for which movie they play. Movies they have watched so far this year include: The White Balloon, Under the Sun and Party Girl.

Cost is $15/person and includes reserved seat, all refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages. Doors open at 7pm on the last Saturday of every month.

Salute to Brant

Tickets are now available for the 2026 Salute to Brant Business Event!

Shining a spotlight on the local business community, this year’s event will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the TF Warren Group Cainsville Community Centre.

This annual event provides an opportunity for local businesses to network, enjoy local food and drink, celebrate industry leaders with awards and hear from a talented keynote speaker.

 Thursday Night Community Dinner

Community Dinner Happens on last Thursday of every month at the Paris Community Church. Everyone is invited to enjoy a free, delicious home-cooked meal. This is a wonderful event and a great way to catch up with friends and neighbors without you having to do the meal planning! Doors open at 5pm, dinner is served at 5:30pm.

Everyone is welcome, you do not have to attend the church to attend this amazing event! Hope to see you there on Thursday September 24th.

 

 Walk and Talk Book Club

Do you love reading new books?

Join the monthly Paris Walk and Talk Book Club and discuss a monthly book selection, all while enjoying a walk. Taking place outdoors (weather depending), attendees can expect a gentle walk on flat terrain around Paris. The group will stop regularly to take in the sunshine and discuss themes from the book.

Meet on the front steps of the Paris Library on the last Tuesday of each month including Tuesday September 29th, from 2-3:30pm.

There is a Bake Sale happening on September 21st and they are looking for bakers who are willing to bake and donate individually packaged bakery goods.

Photography Club

Photography Club Connect with fellow photography lovers to share, photos, exchange tips, and explore creative techniques. All skill levels and cameras welcome, including smartphones.

Takes place at the Paris Library, on the 4th Thursday of the month, from 2-4pm. This is a free, drop-in program.

Queer Life Drawing - Last Friday of Month

Big Cityyy Arts offer life drawing in many forms: pop ups at events, roving entertainment, arty parties, full day classes and more; we have many different options for models, costumes, props and set designs too!

Join us in downtown Paris, Ontario for our monthly
QUEER LIFE DRAWING a space made by and for
2SLGBTQIA+ people; this event runs 6 PM to 8 PM
at St Paul’s United Church and features two models
in costumes, fashion or looks, no nudity but
sometimes fleshy; last Friday of the month. All levels
welcome and all mediums welcome, Pay What You
Can - whatever makes the class possible for you - 
pay on the door with cash; our Community Café will
affordable, accessible and Queer too.

        Brant Pride Joy -                 Lions Park

The @brantpride annual JOY event is happening in Paris at Lions Park on Sunday September 27th, from 11am-3pm, featuring performances, vendor market, arty activities, community groups and more!

The wonderful folks of @brantfordpride will be providing an accessible and flavourful BBQ so everyone is fed and hydrated!

The Brant Art Matters Social is held monthly on the last Wednesday of the month, and runs 5-9pm at St. Paul's United Church. You can drop in or stay for the whole night - as you like.

No membership is required, donate at the door if you can, to help cover the cost of the venue and the refreshments.

  Open Mic Poetry Night

Join the Dog-Eared Cafe for their monthly Poetry Night with their amazing host Dell! Yes! Their poetry community IS truly amazing, and they’re always welcoming new faces to join them in reading original poems, reading your favourites, or just as curious spectator.

Come on out for an evening of poetry with your community. Sign up starts around 6:30 pm with poets taking the stage near 7:00, with each performer given ten minutes, or two poems (which ever comes first) to read and perform.

 Costumed Life Drawing

Calling all artists... B.A.M. presents "Costumed Life Drawing"  on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, Wednesday October 14th, at St. Paul's United Church (48 Broadway St. West, side entrance), from 6-8:30pm.

This is a pay-what-you-can, monthly event, on the second Wednesday of the month. There will be 2 different models, in full costume with different themes.

For October only Prinxlydia will do a combined class where everyone 10 years+ is welcome. 
The space will be the same as usual apart from all of the mixed ages together!

Bring your machine with you and we will open the space with me leading you to thread your machines.
Once we have done that you can work on a small project kit that I have available or if you have brought your own project to work on you can work on that.

This is not a prescribed space where I will teach you and lead you all through the same project. This is for people who want to work on their own independent projects and have a little guidance from me as needed.

Big Cityyy Arts is so excited to introduce a new Theatre Arts Club for young folks 10-17! This twice a month club offers a casual and traditional drama club space on the 1st Wednesday of the month and a modern, theatrical process and experience on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

🎭 Drop in style on the 1st Wednesday of the month! Email to register BigCityyyArts@gmail.com and then come as you like and suits your schedule.

🎭 Rehearse and create a show on the 3rd Wednesday of the month! If your kid wants to act in this Holiday show, they gotta join us from October 21st and if they wanna support with lights, sound, sets etc then we can chat and they can come more sporadically if they want.

Mike is thrilled to announce that the Social Uke Fall 2026 season is now open for registration! He's bringing the noise back to Paris this fall!

Mike is a local musician & ukulele teacher with 1000's of students and he is launching a beginner-friendly program for adults this fall.

No experience needed - just enthusiasm. You'll learn a new song each week, meet like-minded folks and have a blast!

Intro and Level 2 (ENCORE!) ukulele programs for adults available.
